At Colour Print, we take our corporate responsibilities very seriously. In the printing industry, we get through a lot of paper. Some of this is recycled, but when we use paper that is sourced directly from trees, we want to ensure that it has come from a forest that is managed sustainably with the environment and local economy in mind. The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) help us to achieve this.
The Forest Stewardship Council
Founded in 1993, the FSC is an international organisation that deals with forest management. Owners and managers of forests can become FSC certified if they can prove that their forests meet the stringent principles and criteria relating to the sustainability of commercial projects.
Chain of Custody Certification
The FSC certification process doesn’t stop in the forest. Each company in the chain of custody from the forester to the end-user is certified. Sometimes a lot of companies are involved: the loggers, the transporters, the paper mill, the wholesalers, the printers. Thanks to this system set up by the FSC, we can be certain that all our paper and card is ethically sourced. We can check the certification of our paper all the way back to the forest.
We know our customers are ethically-minded and we bet many of yours are as well. The chain of custody doesn’t stop with us. If you use our print services, you can use the FSC logo on your printed products. That way, your customers will know that you have used environmentally responsible printers.
